Physical Therapy

 

Pediatric physical therapy assists with, but not limited to, developmental delays, decreased strength, impaired balance, and coordination/frequent falls, low endurance, orthopedic conditions, torticollis, spinal cord defects and injuries, and traumatic brain injuries. Physical therapy assists with motor skill achievement to improve functional mobility, participation with peers and participation within the environment. Physical therapy goals include, but are not limited to:

  • Learning to walk, run, skip, and gallop

  • Lower extremity and core strength

  • Improve coordination

  • Improve balance to decrease falls

  • Improve ability to sit upright without assistance

  • Wheelchair mobility and transfers

  • Learning to use assistance device(s)
